What You’ll Need:
- A Phillips head screwdriver
- Your license plate frame
- Your license plate
- Screws (use the ones from your old plate or get new ones if needed)
- Optional: xxxx caps for a clean look
-
Remove the Old Plate (If Needed)
- Use a screwdriver to unscrew the old plate from your vehicle.
- Set the screws aside for reuse unless replacing them.
-
Attach the License Plate to the Frame
- Place your license plate inside the frame, ensuring the holes line up.
- Some frames have clips or a bottom lip to hold the plate in place.
-
Position the Frame on Your Vehicle
- Align the frame (with the plate inside) with the mounting holes on your car.
-
Secure with Screws
- Insert the screws into the top two holes and tighten them with a screwdriver.
- If your frame has bottom holes, insert screws there as well (not all vehicles support bottom screws).
- Avoid overtightening to prevent cracking or stripping.
-
Add xxxx Caps (Optional)
- If your frame includes xxxx caps, snap them on for a cleaner look and extra security.
-
Check for Stability
- Give the frame a gentle shake to make sure it's secure and doesn’t rattle.
✅ If the screws don’t fit, visit an auto parts store to get the correct size.
✅ Some states have regulations on license plate frames (e.g., can’t block state names)—double-check local laws.
✅ Consider anti-theft screws for extra security.
